An assembly of hired guns are sent on a mission to a South American country, with the objective to overturn the cold-blooded despot in charge. As the mission begins, the mercenaries discover that the situation is not as it appears. The men find themselves trapped in a deadly game of deception with a traitor among their ranks.

Jet Li as Bao Thao, a Chinese expert of martial arts.
Dolph Lundgren as Gunnar Jensen, a Swedish sniper. Jensen hates Bao Thao and fights with him frequently. It is later revealed Jensen is actually a mole for the main antagonists (as shown in the bootleg promo reel).
Terry Crews as Hale Caesar, Thao's best friend and a weapons specialist.
Randy Couture as Toll Road, demolitions expert.
Mickey Rourke as Tool, a former Expendable, now an arms dealer and tattoo parlor artist/owner.
Gisele Itié as Sandra, a young native woman who's really an Interpol agent.
